My Beauty Journey: From Childhood Passion to Lash & Brow Specialist

I’ve always known I wanted to do something in beauty. Ever since I was very young, I was fascinated by the beauty world — making my own skincare products from kitchen ingredients like honey and sugar, mixing water with rose petals to create my own fragrance, and sneaking my mum’s makeup and lipsticks. I loved watching her pluck her eyebrows and just soaking it all in. Growing up, I knew this was my path.

Alongside beauty, I’ve always had a strong passion for business and finding ways to make my own money. You could say I’ve always had that hustle mentality. I remember seeing an episode of The Simpsons where the kids sold lemonade outside their house for 50 cents. I thought, “What a great idea!” I tried it, but nobody bought any — except my mum, who happily bought it all. That little experience sparked my love for entrepreneurship.

I couldn’t wait to get my first job and start earning my own money. After leaving school in 2006 (I left after Year 10), I enrolled in beauty college, thrilled to start my journey. After finishing, I landed a job at one of Sydney’s top beauty salons, gaining incredible experience and knowledge. Over the years, I worked across salons, day spas, clinics, and laser clinics — I’ve truly done it all.

In 2012, I took the leap and started my own business, renting a beauty room in a hair salon. Of course, I painted everything pink — walls, decor, even matching my outfit! Walking into that space, I had no idea how to run a business, get clients, or advertise. All I knew was how to do the treatments. Slowly, my business grew through word of mouth and flyers.

By 2014, I was ready for the next challenge and opened my own day spa. This was where things really tested me. I spent countless hours sitting between those pink walls thinking, “Nobody teaches you how to run a business. They just teach you the skill.” You finish your course, set everything up, and expect a stampede of clients — but sometimes all you hear is crickets. You might think, “Is it me? Did I do something wrong?” But it’s not you — you just haven’t been taught the business side of things. That’s why in my courses, I teach skill, strategy, and the business side of things — everything I wish I had when I started — so you don’t have to do it alone.

Then, in 2020, due to the pandemic, I made the difficult decision to close my salon and not renew the lease. That chapter ended, but it didn’t end me. It redirected me — same girl, different energy. From high-end day spas to a pink wall, from pivoting through a global pandemic to educating women online, I evolved. When I rebranded and chose pink, it wasn’t random — it represents the girl who started with determination. The pink wall represents the strength it takes to evolve.

If you’re the girl in your pink wall moment right now, keep going. Keep believing. Keep building. Keep showing up before you feel ready. One day, you’ll look back and realise this was the beginning of everything.

After everything I’ve experienced, I decided to specialise in lashes and brows — the services I’ve always loved the most. I love the way they make people feel — there’s nothing better than looking in the mirror and seeing your lashes and brows on point. Now, I get to educate women all around Australia on how to master this service, sharing my skills and knowledge so they can create beautiful results for themselves and their clients.
